Expertise and customisation at the service of clients

The design of heat exchangers, industrial/electric fans and industrial structural work components following the clients’ specifications is carried out by the engineering department, which is also in charge of monitoring the entire production cycle of all the solutions manufactured inside the plant. The possibility of customising products includes not only developing particular technical solutions but also designing brand-new products.

In its design activity, the engineering department uses modern integrated CAD/CAM systems and develops machining profiles and programmes for the CNC operating machines. In addition, each of the heat exchangers, industrial/electric fans and industrial structural work components has a univocal identification code to which the relative technical and commercial documents that are managed and kept in accordance with standard UNI EN ISO 9001:2008 refer.

IEG S.p.A. – Trieste (now Nidec ASI)

Client’s request:

IEG S.p.A of Trieste, a company that was afterwards absorbed by the ASI group, needed to optimise the heat exchangers intended to be used in a new series of electric motors. RGR has revised the design parameters that had been developed by the client, has implemented new technologies to increase the heat exchanger efficiency, and has applied production solutions that would privilege the standard in terms of costs reduction.

Comparison of heat exchangers Initial exchanger Modified exchanger

Client’s request:

The client, for a new series of motors, has asked RGR to optimise the heat exchangers, components that had been initially manufactured according to the client’s design.

Solution adopted:

RGR succeeded in developing a series of heat exchangers characterised by greater power and smaller dimensions than the previous ones.

LDW GmbH - Bremen

Client’s request:

Lloyd Dynamowerke GmbH of Bremen, in Germany, a company that manufactures electric machines, turned to RGR for the study and manufacturing of a new filter, to be installed inside a series of electric fans, in order to replace the previous one, which had some problems resulting in loss of efficiency of the cooling device and did not guarantee the IP23 protection foreseen by the regulations.

Standard filter Special filter Filtering panel

Client’s request:

The filter that was commonly installed on electric fans had the following problems:

  • Dirt on the upper face;
  • Scattering of suction noise;
  • Need of two people for replacing the filtering material;
  • General complexity of the filter replacement operations;
  • External metal mesh protection with sharp ends;
  • No protection in case of rain or water falling from above.

Solution adopted:

The new panel filter has solved all these problems guaranteeing:

  • Effective IP23 protection;
  • Quick filtering panel replacement (without having to remove any additional component);
  • Reduction of the personnel employed for maintenance (only one person);
  • Suction noise directed downwards;
  • Possibility of internal application of sound absorbing materials for the overall reduction of noise.
Nidec ASI S.p.A. - Monfalcone

Client’s request:

Nidec ASI, a leading company at Italian level in the production of electrical and automation systems, needed for some of its types of products the use of welded drawn profiles on sheet components; the problem lay in the fact that, given the presence of different steels in terms of composition and thickness, there could be deformations of the structures during the welding operations.

Welded structure Bent structure

Client’s request:

The client’s designs foresaw the use of welded profiles on sheet components. During the welding operations, the difference in the types of steel entailed paying particular attention in order to avoid structure deformations, and, in any case, some operations to polish up the welded area became necessary.

Solution adopted:

By means of our equipment (laser cutting and bending press), the components are manufactured in a single piece, without having to drill with a drilling machine, weld and grind, thus resulting better from both the mechanical and the aesthetic points of view.
